HTHT WNC Engages Students at Claxton Elementary School on March 27, 2015!
The students in Ms. Sophia’s First grade class at Claxton Elementary in Asheville, North Carolina had the pleasure of doing hands – on science experiments with High Touch High Tech of Western North Carolina’s scientist, Asteroid Amber. Amber spent the morning in the classroom with this first grade class teaching them all about what plants need to survive. She helped them to explore the world’s ecosystems, the five laws of nature, different types of seeds and how they all play a part to nature’s delicate balance. The students got hands-on in this program as they extracted real chlorophyll!! They even got to build their very own greenhouses to keep!

Over the weekend High Touch High Tech-Western North Carolina’s Asteroid Amber, attended a fabulous birthday party extravaganza at the Biltmore Park Clubhouse for Caroline’s 7th birthday party. This birthday girl had a Greek Goddess themed birthday but happens to LOVE science. So we threw her the best science Goddess birthday EVER! Check out the awesome pictures below.
The girls got to erupt a volcano just like Mt. Vesuvius, they had a hair-raising good time when they used our Van der graaf machine, they had fun while making Siren’s Smile Putty and Apollo’s Scepters!
Caroline we hope you and your friends had a fantastic birthday party!
This past Friday, November 21, 2014, High Touch High Tech of Western North Carolina participated in a large community event to ring in the holidays! The kids and families were able to visit 3 of our tables where we did 3 different science experiments. The first experiment we did with the kids was “Ice Cube Fishing”, where they would try to catch a piece of ice on some string. The second table was our Make Your Own Snow station. The kids would get to take pippettes of water and watch their snow grow 300 times its size right in front of them! And lastly, the third table was for our Christmas Ornament Chromotagraphy experiment. They kids would be able to draw on their own ornament and then watch as the water separated the colors from the marker. All in all it was a fantastic evening of FUN and learning for everyone!
